It gives me the best of both worlds in a world where I just don't have the ability to sit for long periods to read between work and family taking most of my time. Audiobooks allow me to listen at times where I am still giving my concentration to it (mostly) such as cooking, cleaning and cycling. The reason I listen is because I never have time to sit with a book now, but I love books. We're all allowed to enjoy different things. If you enjoy it, who cares what someone else thinks. I can't think of any other reading skill that can't be done through listening, though it becomes harder to look at evidence when you're using audio format because skimming and scanning isn't as easy in my opinion.īut I rarely see this debate actually come up.
